About Daily Wisdom Books

Daily Wisdom Books is an independent publishing imprint founded in 2026. It publishes two series by Mitra Goris: Daily Wisdom Books, a set of 365-day secular reading books, and The 30-Day Shift, a set of practical psychology programs.

What we publish

Books you read a page of, then close.

That constraint drives everything else. A page has to be self-contained, because you might not open the book again for four days. It has to end with something to do, because a reading practice without an action is just consumption. And it has to be honest about its sources, because the whole promise is that this is the real tradition rather than a paraphrase of a paraphrase.

Editorial standards

Four rules govern every book:

  1. Public domain sources only, translator named. Every quoted passage comes from a translation in the public domain and names its translator on the page. Paraphrases are marked as such, using the form “After the Bhagavad Gita, 3.15”.
  2. The work, not the edition. Sources are cited by the name of the work, never by a modern publisher’s edition title, because naming a copyrighted edition implies sourcing from it.
  3. No living copyrighted authors quoted in marketing. Not in the books, not in the newsletters, not on this site.
  4. No claims we cannot support. No cures, no guaranteed outcomes, no “twenty-one days to a habit”. Where the popular version of a claim is wrong, the books say so.

What we do not do

We do not publish devotionals that require belief. We do not put heavy journaling inside a reading book, because a reading book and a journal are two different products and pretending otherwise serves neither. And we do not promise transformation on a timetable.
