Terms
This site is a catalogue and a letter. It lists the books by Mitra Goris, explains what is in them, and offers a weekly email. It does not sell anything: there is no cart, no checkout and no account, and every buy button here leaves for a bookshop. What follows is the short version of the arrangement between this site and you.
Last updated 16 August 2026.
Buying the books
The books are sold by Amazon, not here. Your purchase is a contract with them, and their terms govern it. That includes payment, delivery, returns and refunds, so if something is wrong with an order, Amazon is who can fix it and this site is not.
Affiliate links
Daily Wisdom Books takes part in the Amazon Associates programme. Every link from this site to Amazon is an affiliate link: it carries a code identifying this site, and if you buy something after following one, Amazon pays a small commission here.
Three things follow from that, and all three are worth saying plainly rather than burying.
- It costs you nothing. The price is the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly, and the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin rather than being added to yours.
- It does not buy a good review. Every book linked from here is written by Mitra Goris, so this is the author being paid for selling their own books, which is what a book advance is too. Where this site recommends someone else’s work, in the articles on which translation to read first, those recommendations are made on the merits and several of them point at free public domain texts that earn nothing at all.
- You can avoid it entirely. Search for the title on Amazon yourself, or ask for it at a bookshop or a library. Nothing about the book changes.
Every page carrying these links says so on the page itself, next to the links rather than only at the foot of the site. What it means for your privacy is covered in the privacy policy.
Prices, formats and availability shown here can go out of date between edits. The bookshop’s own page is correct and this one is a description of it. Where the two disagree, believe the bookshop.
The free download and the letter
The seven free days and the weekly letter are given, not sold, and there is nothing to pay at any point. They are for you to read. You are welcome to forward the letter to someone, and to print the free days for your own use, but not to sell either of them or publish them as your own.
The letter arrives about once a week and can stop the moment you want it to, from the unsubscribe link in every email. It may pause, change shape, or end altogether, and no promise is made that it runs forever. What happens to your email address is covered in the privacy policy.
What you may reuse
| Material | You may |
|---|---|
| Everything in the press kit, including the bios, the cover images and the book facts | Use it in reviews, articles, podcasts and listings without asking, and without payment or attribution conditions beyond naming the book and Mitra Goris correctly |
| Short quotations from articles on this site | Quote them in a review or a piece of your own, with a link back |
| The rest of the writing on this site, and the text of the books | Ask first. Write to the address below and the answer is usually yes |
| The public domain passages quoted in the books and articles | Use freely and without asking anyone, including this site, because nobody owns them |
That last row is the point of the whole project rather than a concession. Every passage quoted in a Daily Wisdom book comes from a translation in the public domain and names its translator, so you can always go to the source yourself. The notes link straight to the free full texts.
What these books are not
They are not therapy, medical advice, or a substitute for either. Two of them deal with stress and with overthinking, and it is worth being plain about the limit: a book can offer a practice and a way of looking at something, and it cannot assess you, notice you are getting worse, or treat anything.
If you are struggling in a way that is affecting your sleep, your work or your relationships, or if you are in any danger, speak to a doctor or a qualified professional. Do that instead of reading, not after it. Nothing on this site or in these books should be used to postpone that conversation.
Accuracy, and mistakes
This site is written carefully and checked, and it will still be wrong somewhere. It is offered as it is, with no guarantee that every fact is correct, that the site is always reachable, or that any particular result follows from reading a book.
If you find an error, particularly a misquoted passage or a translator credited with words that are not theirs, please write and it will be corrected. That kind of mistake matters more here than anywhere else on the site.
Links to other sites
Links go out to Amazon, to Goodreads, and to free public domain texts on Project Gutenberg and similar archives. Those sites are not run by Daily Wisdom Books and their own terms and privacy policies apply once you arrive. A link is not an endorsement of everything else on the far end of it.
Changes to these terms
If the arrangement changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. The most likely reason would be selling something directly from this site, which would add a section on payment and refunds. There is no version where the change happens quietly first.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the United States, and any dispute arising from them or from the use of this site belongs before the courts of the United States.
If you are reading from somewhere else, that clause does not take away rights your own country gives you. Consumer protection law in many places, the European Union and the United Kingdom among them, applies to you wherever the other party happens to be, and nothing here is intended to sign those rights away.
